Tunnel Vision
On our way to Virginia Beach, I became mesmerized by the lights of the Hampton Roads tunnel.
Not a bad photo with an iPhone and traveling at 55+mph!

January Snow
Well, the forecasts were correct...we had a decent snow storm today; 6+ inches and it's still snowing...
The birds were in an eating frenzy during the storm. 3 male cardinals were competing for the sunflower seed and the attention of one lone female cardinal.

The Ultimate Donuts
Tell the truth...you love donuts. I mean, who doesn't?! Yes, I know...they have no nutritional value...blah blah blah...
Now take a look at these babies.....ooooooooo....
These little bombs of love are from Orso, a great pizzeria in Falls Church, VA. You have! to order these "Lemon Glazed Donuts".
A lucious trio of 3 perfectly fried dough balls. Coated in a subtle lemon glaze. And topped with nutella mousse. O...M...G...
Seriously, they are unbelievable.
I gotta go now...I've drooled all over my keypad...

Gingko Trees
One of my favorite places to wander and photograph is University of Virginia's Blandy Experimental Farm. The State Arboretum of Virginia is located within the Blandy farm. It is a wonderful four-season experience. My favorite time, of course, is Autumn. Blandy is home to a large grove of ginkgo trees. For a brief period in October, the whole grove is golden; the tiny fan-shaped leaves painted gold. The golden leaves don't stay long on the trees, and when the leaves fall of the tree, it's all at once...and the base of the grove is blanketed in a glorious gold carpet.

Yates Ford Road
I live in the last bit of rural part of Fairfax County, VA; just outside of the tiny town of Clifton. Yates Ford is a winding, narrow road; go one way and you pass Paradise Springs Winery, and the road eventually ends at Hemlock Overlook Park and Bull Run. Go the other way, Yates Ford zips onto Clifton Road, then zags back off to the left (never could figure out why) and eventually you wind up back into the hectic/traffic-filled Fairfax County.

Thrifting
I've become slightly obsessed with thrifting...
Yesterday I made my way down to Richmond, hoping to ransack 6 thrift shops. Alas, that was not the case, but! I did score some great finds!
1900's wood/gesso frame; this was filthy; cleaned up nice!

I'm planning on doing the tent sale at On a Whim in Lucketts, VA in mid-August. It will be my first tent sale; hoping to get on the list for Chartreuse!
